When it comes to taking the next step in your life...whether that’s starting a new career, taking the trip of a lifetime, having a hard conversation with someone you love, or something else entirely...many of us suffer from procrastination.
We tell ourselves we'll do it “one day,” when the timing is just right. But what if now is the perfect time for you to make your dream a reality?
What if this moment holds infinite possibilities and you can't afford to wait any longer? Don’t listen to the self-doubt that holds you back. Trust yourself.
Living your best life means taking risks and it means not waiting for the right time.
Not waiting to go for your dreams and live on your own terms involves pushing past fear and doubt.
It's scary to think that we can actually get what we want, which is why it’s so common for us to allow our inner critic or saboteurs to convince us to wait for the right time to do what we want.
When you sit around waiting for just the right time to do something, you’re missing out on countless opportunities. Sure, the unknown can be intimidating and scary. And I'm the first to say how hard it is to override those pesky voices that say..."that's too dangerous" or "you can't afford it."
I remember when I said "no" once to flying in a float plane with my sons which quite frankly terrified me. I immediately knew I'd probably miss out on an adventure. Miraculously, the next day I was given another chance to go and I put on my big girl panties and I did it. It was scary AND wonderful. And I have those memories forever.

I don’t know about you but I don’t want to live with regret. Living with regret is soul-destroying.
To consider all the things you could’ve tried or accomplished, but didn’t, is overwhelming, sad, and downright wearisome to even think about.
Instead of telling yourself all the reasons you shouldn’t do something, try saying yes to every opportunity you’re offered. You never know what could happen.
I remember the time I talked back to my inner saboteurs who said it was too expensive and too daring to go on safari in Tanzania. I overrode those thoughts, saved my money, packed my bags, and had the best adventure of my entire life. Read about it here
6 months later we were in full lockdown in a worldwide pandemic. What if I hadn't gone when I did?
I will never regret making the decision to take that trip as long as I live.
Self-growth is a must if you really want to live your best life.
If you remain stagnant as a person, you may find you have less to offer the world. And sadly, the world will miss out on the gifts that only you have.
Taking chances and going after the things you desire enriches you as a person. I believe when we face our fears and take risks, we're more confident and able to cope with whatever comes our way.
We teach our brains that we can indeed do hard things.
When you don't wait, you enhance your characteristics and talents, such as persistence, communication, interpersonal skills, resilience, and more. These are the types of experiences that lead to self-growth and increased emotional intelligence.
If you’re like most people there’s probably not a time when you’ll feel completely ready to just go for it and give something a shot.
You could almost always use more money, experience, research, time, or other resources. You may not be able to do absolutely everything you want to try, but you should definitely take chances on the ones that are within your grasp.
Life is not guaranteed. We only are given a certain number of days to live.
That’s why it makes sense to take every opportunity and chance you possibly can.
Keep these reasons in mind the next time you find yourself putting something off for later or for a time that’s better.
Every day, we make decisions that will affect the rest of our lives. Sometimes, these decisions are small, like what to wear or what to eat. Other times, they’re bigger, like whether or not to take a new job or buy a new house.
And sometimes, we face choices that seem impossible, with no clear right or wrong answer. When faced with one of these “big” decisions, it’s easy to wait for the perfect moment when all the stars align and everything feels just right.
Life keeps moving forward whether we make a decision or not, so waiting for the “right time” is often just an excuse for inaction. If you’ve been putting off making a big decision in your life because you’re waiting for the perfect conditions, think about why and what you will choose to do now.
Take a deep breath and jump into action today because now is always the right time.
